Scripture Lyrics: Turn Round & I'll Sing A Song
Exodus 3:1-22   " And the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed. And Moses said, I will now turn aside, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt. And when the Lord saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I. And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground. Moreover he said, I am the God of thy father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. And Moses hid his face; for he was afraid to look upon God. And the Lord said, I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows; And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, ... 10 Come now therefore, and I will send thee unto Pharaoh, that thou mayest bring forth my people the children of Israel out of Egypt."

ü Thank You for bringing me out of the dark night. Your bringing me on these platforms is one of my burning bush experiences where You are trying to reveal Yourself to me anew. Like Moses, help me turn aside now to see and to hear You. Take indifference away from me.
ü 2Corinthians 3:16  " Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the veil shall be taken away." Lord take away whatever veil that still covers my heart from seeing or hearing You in this daybreak: Religion, Tradition, Culture, Mammon, The Flesh, Sinful Habits, Pressure, Anything that constitutes a blockage in my life, let it lift by the power of Your Holy Spirit. I want to see and hear YOU.
ü Lord don't let the enemy use my weakness as a veil. Help me know that Your strength is only made perfect in my weakness. Help me drop my weakness in Your hands so I can pick up Your strength in this day of Your power. Help me rely on Your mercy as I go in Your name and with Your power.
ü Lord scatter and plague the devil with all his organised plans to stand in the way as I go to bring freedom and life to Your people through the power of the Gospel.
ü Lord open the eyes of Your people as You introduce Yourself to them again through the mystery of the cross centred Gospel. Lord, set Your people free from sin.

Exodus 15:1-27  " Then sang Moses and the children of Israel this song unto the Lord, and spake, saying, I will sing unto the Lord, for he hath triumphed gloriously: the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea. The Lord is my strength and song, and he is become my salvation: he is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation; my father's God, and I will exalt him. The Lord is a man of war: the Lord is his name. Pharaoh's chariots and his host hath he cast into the sea: his chosen captains also are drowned in the Red sea...."

ü For those of us who already know Your victory over sin, the world and Satan, please put a new song in our mouth. Enlarge our heart in gratitude to You always.
ü Like Moses, and like our Master JESUS, give us the courage to face whatever task is ahead of us in bringing the message of hope and victory to others.
ü May we promote Your sovereignty over all as we go in this daybreak. Amen

ü We pray for the minstrels:
·        Those who write these lyrics
·        Those who conduct and sing them
·        Those who play the instruments
·        Those who record the lyrics
·        Those who minister of their substance- food, home, comfort etc...
ü Lord it takes a long time to prepare Your messengers for a short message, because You care for their lives. Prepare continuously, these Your minstrels for Your glorious use.
ü We pray for the Scripture Lyrics, (the message) Let life come out to all who hear and see these lyrics. Bring conviction, conversion and freedom to go and live for the Lord.
ü Thank You for the power of songs. Send us more lyrics, more minstrels, and more open doors to the hearts of men everywhere.

ü Psalm 70:4  " Let all those that seek Thee rejoice and be glad in Thee: and let such as love Thy salvation say continually, Let God be magnified."

Turn Round With A Face Unveiled
(Exodus 3-14. tune: Lord Thy Word Abideth)

1. Turn round with a face unveiled
Hear the cry of slaves in chains
Come now let me send you
Says the only great ‘I AM’

2. But Lord I’m a stammerer
Timid, spineless as a worm
Drop to the ground your weak rod
Pick up now God’s own rod

3. Go with renewed strength and fire
Burning from My heart to yours
And with boldness speak My word
“Pharaoh let My people go!”

4. See the plagues of unbelief
Frogs, boils, darkness, lice and fleas
Mark your lintels with the blood
Eat quick God’s Passover

5. Tell My people says the Lord
“Jesus shed His precious blood
Freedom yours, Mine great the cost
Look to Him and die not”

6. Hear Lord now Your people’s plea
Open all our blinded eyes
Wake up all our slumbering hearts
Help us touch this freedom!

Scripture Lyrics
Luke 8:5-8   " A sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the way side; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it.  And some fell upon a rock; and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered away, because it lacked moisture.   And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up with it, and choked it.  And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold. And when he had said these things, he cried, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear."

Genesis 37:1-2  "And Jacob dwelt in the land wherein his father was a stranger, in the land of Canaan.  These are the generations of Jacob. Joseph, being seventeen years old, was feeding the flock with his brethren; and the lad was with the sons of Bilhah, and with the sons of Zilpah, his father's wives: and Joseph brought unto his father their evil report."

ü Hebrews 1:9  "Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows." Lord activate the love for righteousness and hatred for iniquity in me like You did for Joseph.
ü Help me stand out from among the crowd as an uncompromising lover of righteousness, "though no one joins me still I will follow."
ü May I seek to help my brethren to love righteousness though they persecute me like Joseph's brothers did when he sought for them to turn from their evil ways.

Genesis 37:6-7, 9  "And he said unto them, Hear, I pray you, this dream which I have dreamed:  For, behold, we were binding sheaves in the field, and, lo, my sheaf arose, and also stood upright; and, behold, your sheaves stood round about, and made obeisance to my sheaf...
And he dreamed yet another dream, and told it his brethren, and said, Behold, I have dreamed a dream more; and, behold, the sun and the moon and the eleven stars made obeisance to me."

ü As I pursue Your righteousness, Lord, equip me with a dream of what You have for my life as a sower. Let me be propelled by my dream to sow righteousness in all my dealings with men even when it looks like it is not yielding.
ü Genesis 37:13-17; 19-20  Joseph sowed brotherly love, looking out for his brothers. Make me my brother's keeper. Never let me pay evil with evil but help me overcome evil by good.
ü Genesis 39:7-12  Joseph sowed righteousness by fleeing from sin, though half naked. Cause me by Your grace to say "NO" to sin however attractive. Sin is a killer of dreams.
ü Genesis 41:25-44 Joseph sowed righteousness by interpreting Pharaoh's dream exactly as God gave it, not adding, not taking away from it. Lord, help me to uphold Your Word and declare it as it is, whatever the cost.
ü Isaiah 63:1-3 Help me bring godly counsel to people who are confused and in need.

Genesis 49:22-26
From grass to grace was Joseph raised
Tried, tempted stood o’er sin prevailed
Young Joseph proved God’s faithfulness,
With hope and patience lived his dream.

ü Lord, like Joseph give me a divine push to prevail over sin, over the world and over Satan. Make me an overcomer in a difficult and overbearing world. Bring all my dreams to reality miraculously. Make me fulfil Your destiny for my life.

ü Cause our children's hearts to open to You like Joseph. (mention their names) Deliver them from all that the enemy has organised to kill their dreams and destroy their destinies. Make all our children fulfil destiny in JESUS' name. Amen.

Scripture Lyrics
Revelation 21:21-25   " And the twelve gates were twelve pearls: every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.  And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.  And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.  And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.  And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there."

Revelation 22:1-21  "And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.  In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.   And there shall be no more curse..."

1 Corinthians 2:9  "But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him."

Apostle John was using weak human language to describe a divine glorious environment.

ü  Lord, enrapture me into the glorious life of God. Capture and captivate my heart in this new day. Make me a heaven-minded follower.
ü  Rev 22:7  You are coming quickly. Number me among those blessed ones who will keep the sayings of the prophesy of this Book. Those who live by God's Word.
ü  Rev 22:8-9  "Worship God." Lord, help me to give all the glory of this daybreak to God alone. Help me honour Your servants that You used like this angel to open my eyes to this revelation but I must not worship them. I must worship God alone.
ü  I must help protect their lives by not giving them the glory that belongs only to You. Lord, take all the glory and worship over my life. Do same for all my brethren who enter into their daybreak I pray. Help our leaders to release all glory to You always. As a leader, help me to release all glory to You always. May I never share in Your glory. Amen
ü  Rev 22:10-12, 15  Your coming is imminent. Count me among Your righteous and holy, not among the unjust, the filthy, and the dogs.
ü  Rev 22: 13, 16  Introduce Yourself to me again as I enter this daybreak.
Lord that I may know YOU.
v  The Alpha, The Omega, The Beginning, The End.
v  The Root and offspring of David.
v  The Bright and Morning Star.
ü  Rev 22:17  Count me among Your Bride who partner with Your Spirit to invite souls of men to You in this new day. Make me a sower of the Good News. Help me sow freely, not commercialising the Gospel for personal gain.
ü  Rev 22:18-19  Don't let me be among those who "edit" Your Word. Fill my heart with awe of You and of Your Word. Don't let me add to or remove from it ever. Forgive and cleanse me where I have done this in the past. Not anymore Lord!
ü  Rev 22:20  MARANATHA! Even so, come LORD JESUS. Come quickly. Keep us with Your grace as we await Your coming. Amen
ü  Lord, we commend this Scripture Lyrics to You. Send it out as Your arrow of deliverance and as a wake-up call to Your people to make ready. Lend it wings and let it fly far. Introduce them to our fellowships and churches. Save and restore many souls with them.
ü  Help me play my part in sowing the Seed by sending the link to this page out to contacts.

ü  Thank You for the power of Your Word in lyrics. Bless their writers and singers. Amen.

Revelation 22
(Rev 22. Tune: My Jesus I Love Thee)

1. The Lord's angel showed me
A pure river of life.
Water clear as crystal,
Came out of God's throne.
The throne of the Lamb too,
Flowed river clear as crystal-
O Lord take my life,
And fit it for Thy land.

2. On both sides the river
Was there tree of life.
With twelve kinds of fruits
Yielded every month.
Its leaves were for healing
Of nations and lands-
O Lord take my life,
And fit it for Thy land.

3. No more shall a curse be
In this glorious land.
But the throne of God
And the throne of the Lamb
Shall be in the city
His servants shall serve Him-
O Lord take my life,
And fit it for Thy land.

4. They shall see God's grace...
His name in their foreheads.
There shall be no night
No candle they'll need
They need no sunlight there
The Lord God giveth light-
O Lord take my life,
And fit it for Thy land.

5. Behold I come quickly
Blessed is the one,
That keepeth the sayings
Of God in this book.
Seal not this book saying,
The time is at hand-
O Lord take my life,
And fit it for Thy land.

6. He that is unjust...
Let him still be unjust.
And he that is righteous
He righteous be still.
And he that is holy
Let him still be holy-
O Lord take my life,
And fit it for Thy land.

7. I'm Alpha and Omega
Beginning and end.
The first and the last
Blessed are the ones
Who do these commandments
The tree of life they'll eat-
O Lord take my life,
And fit it for Thy land.

8. The Spirit and the bride
Say "Come!" unto all.
And let him that's thirsty
Drink free of the Lord
He which testifies these
Says "Surely I come quickly!"
E'en so Come Lord Jesus.
Come quickly Amen!

Maranatha!
(John 13. tune: “There Is A Fountain”)
1. In the upper room Jesus sat
With His disciples twelve
To eat the last supper with them
And take His journey home (3ice).
To eat the last supper with them
And take His journey home.

2. With heavy heart took He the bread
He broke and gave them all,
This is my body broken up
To break the power of sin (3ice).
This is my body broken up
To break the power of sin.

3. Then took the cup and gave God thanks
Drink ye all from this cup
This is my blood shed on the cross
To wash your sins away (3ice).
This is my blood shed on the cross
To wash your sins away.

4. Do this as often as you would,
My death to remember
And I will come to take you home,
Where I am you shall be (3ice).
And I will come to take you home,
Where I am you shall be.

5. Lord we will be Thy chosen ones
To love Thee all our lives
And do Thy will till kingdom come
We’ll sing MA-RA-NA-THA! (3ice).
And do Thy will till kingdom come
We’ll sing MA-RA-NA-THA!

Rise Up O Men of GOD!

Join this HeartCry Prayer- Every Wednesday 11.30am-1.30pm (UK time)

1. Rise up, O men of God!
Have done with lesser things.
Give heart and mind and soul and strength
To serve the King of kings.

2. Rise up, O men of God!
The kingdom tarries long.
Bring in the day of brotherhood
And end the night of wrong.

3. Rise up, O men of God!
The church for you doth wait.
Her strength unequal to her task;
Rise up and make her great!

4. Rise up, O men of God!
The trumpet call obey.
Your Master says “I’M COMING SOON”
Rise up and make Him known

5. Lift high the cross of Christ!
Tread where His feet have trod.
As brothers of the Son of Man,
Rise up, O men of God!

Old Rugged Cross

George Bennard
Feb 4, 1873 – Oct 10, 1958

But God forbid that I should boast except in the Cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world – Gal. 6:14.

For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God –1 Cor. 1:18.

Bennard, who was born in Youngstown, Ohio, was the son of George and Margaret Russell Bennard, of Scottish descent. The couple, who had five other children, moved their family to Albia, where the senior Bennard ran a tavern, and later to Lucas. When the Albia tavern burned, the father of the house turned to mining coal, and an accident led to his death at 49, forcing young George, at 16, to support his mother and sisters as a miner.

In 1895, across the state in Canton, Bennard attended Salvation Army meetings, and at 24 became a minister when he enlisted in the Salvation Army at Rock Island, Ill. By 1898, he was conducting revival meetings throughout the Midwest, later transferring to New York, where he resigned in 1910 to go out on his own as an evangelist. It was at that time that he began composing hymns. Bennard settled at Albion, Mich., and opened his own hymn publishing company. It was at Albion that he likely began - and later finished - "The Old Rugged Cross." The hymn was first sung formally at a revival meeting at Pokagon, Mich. Noted evangelist Billy Sunday, an Iowa native, popularized the hymn with his nationally broadcast radio show. By 1939, more than 15 million copies of the hymn had been sold and numerous recordings made.
At the beginning of the twentieth century, liberalism and its denial of the most important doctrines of the Christian faith was in its heyday. After this era, Methodism in the British Isles and America never recovered from its romance with liberalism. However, Rev. Bennard at the foot of the cross, took his stand for the faith once delivered to the saints.

Subsequently, he joined the Methodist Episcopal Church and became a distinguished Midwestern Holiness evangelist. The message of “holiness” in the late nineteenth century was a message advocated by John Wesley and historic Methodism. Not until the early twentieth century was this term mixed with excesses not advocated by Wesley and historic Methodism. Rev. Bennard did not associate himself with the excesses of the twentieth century but was rather associated with the biblical message of purity of heart and life.

Before Bennard wrote this song, he was deeply into the study of the Cross and spent many hours into reading and meditating on it until he said, “I was praying for a full understanding for the cross and its plan in Christianity. I read and studied and prayed. I saw Christ and the Cross inseparably. The Christ of the Cross became more than a symbol . . it was like seeing John 3:16 (For God so loved the world, He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life) leave the printed page, take form and act out on the meaning of redemption. While watching this scene with my mind's eye, the theme of the song came to me, and with it the melody.”

Upon Bennard's death in 1958, the local chamber of commerce of Reed City, Michigan, erected a large memorial cross near the Bennard home as a tribute to the evangelistic life of Reverend and Mrs. George Bennard, and to his most famous beloved song. A year later, The Old Rugged Cross Historical Museum was dedicated near the same site. The cross and the museum still stand today.

LET US PRAY:
  • The Cross as an emblem of our faith, is not a beautiful ornament (hung on a gold chain or a beautiful carving overlaid with gold, standing in front of our church). It is rugged, rough - an emblem of suffering and shame. Dear Lord, please open my eyes to see the Cross where my Saviour died as George Bennard saw it.
  • Rev. Bennard was a remnant (the holiness movement) in an era of LIBERAL CHRISTIANITY when the doctrine of the atonement was being denied. Things are now somehow worse with the church since then. Lord, please keep me by Your grace and shield my soul from the decay that is all around.
  • Help me Lord to cling to, not just sing THE OLD RUGGED CROSS.

1. On a hill far away stood an old rugged cross,
The emblem of suffering and shame;
And I love that old cross where the dearest and best
For a world of lost sinners was slain.

So I’ll cherish the old rugged cross,
Till my trophies at last I lay down;
I will cling to the old rugged cross,
And exchange it some day for a crown.

2. O that old rugged cross, so despised by the world,
Has a wondrous attraction for me;
For the dear Lamb of God left His glory above
To bear it to dark Calvary.

3. In that old rugged cross, stained with blood so divine,
A wondrous beauty I see,
For ’twas on that old cross Jesus suffered and died,
To pardon and sanctify me.

4. To the old rugged cross I will ever be true;
Its shame and reproach gladly bear;
Then He’ll call me some day to my home far away,
Where His glory forever I’ll share.
